Monkey pox hits Lagos

Two suspected cases of Monkeypox have been recorded in Lagos State.

This was made known by the Commissioner for Health in the state, Dr. Jide Idris, on Monday. “Though the suspected cases are still under observation, there is need to sensitise members of the public and provide adequate information on measures for prevention and control of the disease in line with the policy of the State government,” he said.

While the NYSC Batch A Stream 2 Corps members are waiting for their call-up letters and posting to camp in various state for their service year, it's pertinent to plan early as a Batch B 2017 NYSC Prospective Corps Member.

There truth is: there's no official date or timetable for NYSC Batch B 2017 Prospective Corps Members yet but you have to start planning early. It's obvious that the timetable would be released when 2017 Batch A Stream 2 are done with Orientation Camping and when the current Batch B 2016 have passed-out or done their POP.

Asking which State pays the highest State allowance (allowii) and lobbying to go there won't be necessary if you are well prepared for the Service Year. There are many practical ways of earning extra income during your service year and you'll be surprised that you can earn more than the highest paid state allowance (allowee) in the Country.

Having a skill could really make your service year enjoyable irrespective of which State you are posted to. I'll advise you start now to plan for NYSC service year and also life after NYSC. If you don't have a skill, acquire one either while you are in school or immediately you are done with school.
